Afterschool Childcare Provision Providing the Freedom to Play
Afterschool Childcare Provision
About Us
Operating since 2005, originally known as Smash , we rebranded as Play House Childcare in 2016 to better reflect our ethos as a play driven childcare provision.
Founder and director Claire House's vision is to provide opportunities and resources to children so that they can explore their natural play instincts. This vision is shared and supported by highly qualified and experienced staff.
We are Ofsted registered to care for Early Years (0-5 years) and Childcare Compulsory (5 plus) . We accept Childcare Vouchers.
We are based next to St Michael's School in a dedicated, large one storey self-contained building with custom built garden.
Play House Facilities and Garden
We offer a unique custom designed play environment, both inside and out. Inside we have a variety of designated areas including art and craft, role play, media, games, snacks, sensory room/chill out zone and messy play.
Outside we have a mud kitchen, playhouses, trampoline, slide, sand and mud areas, hammocks, gardening area, water play and a large grassed area for playing games and sport and generally running around.
All of this is designed to encourage children to explore, be curious, independent and unique. We believe in offering opportunities to learn through play.
Meet the Staff
We are a highly experienced professional team of early years and play practitioners. We believe in practice reflection and ongoing training and professional development. All our staff are required to be paediatric first aid trained. We have an embedded culture of safeguarding.
"Experienced and well qualified leaders, have exceptional knowledge of the early years foundation stage requirements and are excellent role models to well motivated staff. Highly focused professional development and incisive evaluation of the provision successfully drives improvement."
